Dodecyl compounds are chemical compounds formally derived from dodecane, C12H26, by replacement of one of the three hydrogen atoms on the terminal carbon (i.e. carbon #1) with other atoms or functional groups. Dodecyl compounds contain the dodecyl group, C12H25, and have the general formula C12H25X, where X is any chemical element or group.
